Creamy Butter Froasting
1/2 cup butter 1 Tbsp. milk or cream1 lb confectioners sugar, sifted 1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt 1 egg
Cream butter until smooth. Add 1/3 of sifted confectioners sugar; beat until creamy. Blend in salt, milk, and vanilla. Add unbeaten egg and remaining confectioners sugar; beat until smooth.
Variations
Chocolate - add 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
Orange - omit vanilla; blend in 1 Tbsp orange juice in place of milk or cream. add 1 tsp. grated orange peel.
